EnergonX UPS

Automatic backup power sized for the real task

EnergonX UPS – movable backup power for critical loads

The EnergonX UPS is an independent EnergonX product family. The loads do not have to be adapted to one generic UPS unit used for every task: the UPS/inverter module, battery, power rating, runtime, connections and movable frame can be sized for the actual application.

During a power outage, the system can switch to battery operation without separate intervention, then return to mains operation and recharge the battery when grid power is restored. Exact operation, transfer time and compatibility are always determined by the selected UPS module and the technical specifications of the complete system.

Why can EnergonX UPS?

The system is more than a UPS device placed next to a battery. The UPS module, battery, wiring, protection, connections and movable mechanical construction are designed as one coordinated system.

Sized for the load

Continuous power, startup load, required runtime and connection method together determine the appropriate system design.

Complete, operational backup power

A UPS assembled with a compatible battery can be delivered as a complete system with the selected UPS module, connections and protection.

Movable even with higher capacity

The heavy battery, UPS module and connections can be integrated into one organized industrial frame that can be wheeled when required.

Accessible and serviceable

The main components can be inspected and professionally replaced, while the system can later be upgraded or adapted to another task where technically possible.

The key idea in one sentence

The critical load should not be forced to fit the limitations of a predefined UPS solution: EnergonX UPS can be designed around the load, required runtime and operating environment.

Conventional fixed UPS or task-specific UPS system?

Both can provide automatic backup power. The difference is that a conventional solution is usually tied to the factory limits of a specific UPS device, while an EnergonX system allows the external UPS module, battery, protection and mechanical construction to be matched together to the task.

Aspect Typical conventional fixed UPS EnergonX UPS
Basic concept Predefined UPS device with factory-set power and charging system UPS module, battery, protection and connection system sized for the load
Installation Usually installed in one fixed location Can also be built as an organized movable or wheeled industrial system
Battery Selection defined or limited by the manufacturer Selected according to system voltage, charging compatibility, load capability, dimensions and required runtime
Runtime Limited to the factory battery or supported expansion Can be sized for higher capacity based on consumption and required backup time
Connections Factory-defined outputs Connection system matched to the load and installation method
Serviceability Depends on factory construction and parts availability Main components are accessible, inspectable and professionally replaceable
Future modification Usually limited The battery, connections and other system components can be modified after technical assessment
Application range Often a narrow, predefined application Can be designed for residential, institutional, industrial and agricultural critical loads

How does BASE become a complete UPS system?

The logic is simple: UPS BASE is the pre-equipped system foundation without a battery. Once the correct compatible battery is selected and installed, it becomes a complete, operational EnergonX UPS system.

EnergonX UPS BASE

It includes the external UPS module, electronics, connections, movable frame and required protective components, but is supplied without a battery.

  • does not include a battery;
  • the compatible battery can be selected separately;
  • not yet an operational backup power source on its own;
  • a pre-equipped foundation for the correct system.

Compatible battery

The battery must be selected according to the UPS module's nominal voltage and charging system, the load, required runtime and available installation space.

  • correct nominal voltage;
  • compatible battery chemistry and charging parameters;
  • required capacity and load capability;
  • safe physical and electrical compatibility.

Complete EnergonX UPS

UPS BASE + compatible battery = complete system. The assembled system is matched to the defined load, runtime and installation environment.

  • assembled and checked system;
  • battery matched to the selected UPS module;
  • defined connections and protection;
  • available as a standard model or customized build.

What does automatic backup power mean?

The primary purpose of EnergonX UPS is to maintain power to a selected load during a grid outage without separate manual switching, provided the complete system is compatible and correctly sized.

During mains operation

The load operates from the grid while the UPS module manages and charges the battery according to its own operating logic.

During a power outage

The UPS module can automatically switch to battery operation. Transfer time and output characteristics depend on the specific module.

When grid power returns

The system can return to mains operation and recharge the battery according to the configured charging parameters.

For the required runtime

Available runtime is determined by consumption, startup load, battery capacity, state of charge and permitted load.

“Automatic” does not always mean uninterrupted operation

Transfer time can differ by module. For particularly sensitive electronics or safety-critical equipment, the load manufacturer's requirements and the selected UPS module specifications must be checked separately.

What loads can it be built for?

EnergonX UPS is not intended only for domestic boilers. It can be relevant wherever a smaller but important load must remain operational during a power outage.

Boiler and heating system

For backup supply of boiler electronics, controls and smaller associated loads, with suitable line, neutral and protective-earth arrangements.

Circulation and process pump

Startup current and motor characteristics must be considered in addition to nominal power.

Router and communication

For maintaining internet connectivity, network devices, radio and other communication equipment.

Control and monitoring

For backup power to smaller controllers, supervision systems, data devices and monitoring units.

Cameras and security systems

For cameras, recorders, alarm and access-control equipment when correctly sized.

Smaller backup lighting

For time-limited backup supply of LED work lights, safety lighting or orientation lighting.

EnergonX UPS configurations

The specific system type is determined by the installed UPS module family, system voltage, battery and selected configuration. Exact compatibility must always be checked against the technical specifications on the relevant product page.

UPS Tech

Configurations built around external UPS modules with adjustable charging parameters. AGM or LiFePO₄ compatibility must be determined from the specifications of the actual module and battery.

UPS SOHO

Systems built around SPS SOHO external UPS modules. They are mainly intended for AGM/VRLA standby configurations; exact compatibility is product-specific.

12 V or 24 V system

Nominal system voltage is determined jointly by the UPS module, battery, required power and wiring.

BASE or battery-equipped version

The model name can identify either the battery-free BASE version or the installed battery code and the specific subtype.

Model-name examples

EnergonX UPS Tech 12 BASETech module family, 12 V system, without battery
EnergonX UPS SOHO 12 [A010]-1SOHO module family, 12 V system, with a specified battery and subtype

Powered by EnergonX – quality throughout the complete system

The Powered by EnergonX mark does not simply mean that a UPS module and battery were mounted on the same frame. It is a quality commitment that the selected industrial enclosure or frame, external UPS module, battery, wiring, connections, protection and mechanical mounting each meet EnergonX requirements.

The mechanical platform is always matched to the task. A QBRICK-based, wheeled industrial or another proven high-quality frame can be used when required by the weight, environment and operating method.

The mark represents the coordinated quality of the supporting frame, installed electronics, battery system, wiring, protection and modules.

When is it worth considering an EnergonX UPS system?

When the load must continue automatically

When there is no opportunity or time for manual switching during an outage and the load must transfer to backup power without separate intervention.

When longer backup time is required

When the built-in battery of a compact UPS does not provide sufficient runtime and a larger, task-specific capacity is needed.

When the heavy weight must also be managed

With a larger battery, mobility, mounting, wiring and organized placement are just as much part of the system as the electronics.

When future servicing and modification matter

An accessible construction is an advantage when the battery, UPS module or another system component later needs inspection, replacement or upgrading.
