SKU: {EX1400-EXP-12 [A024]-1}

A fully assembled 12 V EnergonX UPS system with a LiFePO₄ battery providing 4.1 kWh of nominal stored energy and an external pure sine wave UPS module. During mains operation, the system powers the connected loads and charges the battery; in the event of a power failure or significant mains-voltage deviation, it automatically switches to battery operation.

The UPS module provides up to 1000 W continuous output, two 230 V sockets, AVR voltage regulation and fixed-phase operation. The 320 Ah LiTime battery can be monitored via Bluetooth 5.0.

Fully assembled system: EXPLORER frame, UPS EXT Tech 1000, LiTime 12V 320Ah Bluetooth LiFePO₄ battery, eight integrated M8 mounting points and the required EnergonX connector sets.
Usable energy: the nominal 4.1 kWh battery energy is not the same as the energy actually available from the 230 V outputs. Runtime is affected by load power, UPS efficiency, battery condition, temperature and the configured protection thresholds.

UPS function and 230 V power supply

The TECHTRON ZA-TECH-1000-PLUS external UPS module provides up to 1000 W of continuous pure sine wave 230 V output through two sockets. Line-Interactive operation, fast automatic transfer and four-step AVR support uninterrupted operation of the connected loads.

The integrated three-stage charger can be set to a maximum current of 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 A. Charging, float, warning and cut-off voltages can be adjusted to suit the installed LiFePO₄ battery.

Output-power limit: although the 200 A battery BMS can support higher DC current, the continuous 230 V output of the complete system is limited to 1000 W by the UPS module.
Starting power: motors, pumps, fans and other inductive loads may draw several times their rated power during start-up. Both operating and starting power must be considered when selecting the system.

4.1 kWh LiFePO₄ energy storage

The LiTime 12V 320Ah W190 Smart battery provides 4096 Wh of nominal energy, a 200 A intelligent BMS and Bluetooth 5.0 monitoring. Battery status and real-time operation can be followed in the LiTime app.

320 Ah capacityLarge energy reserve for longer-duration backup-power tasks.
200 A BMSProtection against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and abnormal temperature.
Bluetooth 5.0Real-time battery data and diagnostic information in the mobile application.
Low-temperature charging protectionBelow 0 °C, the BMS disables charging to protect the cells.
Actual runtime: the nominal 4096 Wh energy cannot be used in full through the 230 V output. Actual runtime depends on load power, UPS efficiency, battery state of charge and condition, temperature and the configured protection thresholds.
Cold-environment operation: the battery is not self-heating. The charging protection below 0 °C must not be bypassed.

Runtime example – modern boiler and circulation pump

The following example uses reference values for a modern condensing boiler in the 32 kW class and a high-efficiency circulation pump suitable for heating a larger family home. The boiler’s heating output is not the same as its electrical power consumption.

Boiler electrical powerCalculated with a maximum electrical consumption of 113 W.
Circulation pumpCalculated with a maximum electrical consumption of 40 W.
Combined continuous load113 W + 40 W = 153 W.
Nominal battery energy4096 Wh / 4.096 kWh.
Calculation stepValueNotes
Nominal battery energy4096 WhNominal energy of the LiTime 12.8 V / 320 Ah battery.
Assumed usable battery energy4096 Wh × 90% = 3686 WhThe example leaves a 10% energy reserve in the battery.
Assumed UPS efficiency88%An assumption used only for this example, not a guaranteed product-efficiency value.
Estimated usable 230 V energy3686 Wh × 88% ≈ 3244 WhAfter deducting inverter losses.
Combined boiler and pump load153 W113 W boiler + 40 W pump.
Estimated continuous runtime3244 Wh ÷ 153 W ≈ 21.2 hoursCalculated at continuous maximum reference load.
Example result: under the stated assumptions, the system can continuously power a modern boiler consuming 113 W and a circulation pump consuming up to 40 W for approximately 21 hours.
Actual runtime may differ: boilers and pumps generally do not operate continuously at maximum power, so longer runtime may be possible at partial load. Additional loads, starting current, battery temperature and condition, UPS losses and the configured cut-off voltage may reduce runtime.
Sizing rule: for a specific heating system, it is advisable to measure the actual electrical consumption of the boiler, pump and all related controls. This calculation is illustrative and does not constitute a guaranteed runtime.

EXPLORER frame, mounting and connections

The high-capacity battery and external UPS module are integrated into one mobile system on the EXPLORER frame. Eight integrated M8 mounting points provide stable mechanical installation and options for later expansion.

The QS Custom Connectors Set 3 and the dedicated UPS connector set form part of the finished system’s connection architecture. The accessible position of the external UPS module supports operation, ventilation, inspection and later professional maintenance.

Modular design: the main EnergonX system components remain accessible, replaceable and adaptable to future requirements. Any modification must be carried out with appropriate electrical and mechanical engineering.

Recommended applications

  • Backup power for gas boilers, circulation pumps and heating controllers.
  • Smaller critical loads in institutional, industrial or agricultural applications.
  • Routers, modems, network equipment, camera systems and communication devices.
  • Computers, controllers, monitoring systems and smaller technical electronic equipment.
  • Lighting, gate control, security equipment and other loads requiring up to 1000 W continuous power.
  • Applications where pure sine wave 230 V output, AVR or phase-correct supply is important.
Not every load below 1000 W can be started safely: compressors, motors and transformer-based equipment with high starting current require separate assessment. The external UPS manufacturer does not recommend the unit for conventional compressor refrigerators.

Safety and installation warning

230 V mains voltage: system installation, phase-correct wiring and use with a boiler or building-services system must be checked by a qualified electrician.
Stand-alone output: loads may be connected directly to the two 230 V sockets. The output must not be connected to or backfeed the building’s existing electrical installation.
High-current 12 V system: battery-to-UPS connections may be disconnected or modified only while de-energised. Cabling, fusing and connector modifications must be carried out professionally.
Ventilation: the UPS fan and ventilation openings must remain unobstructed. At least 15 cm of free space must be provided around the module.
Moisture and location: no IP rating is specified for the complete system. Use only in a dry, dust-free and well-ventilated area, protected from rain, water, corrosive gases, fuel and flammable materials.
Charging in cold conditions: the battery is not self-heating. The BMS disables charging below 0 °C, and this protection must not be bypassed.
Load limit: the combined continuous 230 V load must not exceed 1000 W. Starting peak power must be considered separately for every load.
Repair and modification: do not open, modify or attempt to repair the UPS module, battery or high-current connections.
