EnergonX PowerBox NOMAD [A018]-2

NOMAD [A018]-2 is the inverter-equipped version of the EnergonX PowerBox NOMAD [A018]-1. The 12 V system combines a high-capacity self-heating Bluetooth LiFePO₄ battery with an EnergonX 40 A charger and a pure sine wave 230 V inverter module.

Built around a black Qbrick System ONE 350 Technik 2.0 transport case, the unit retains the NOMAD 12 V connections while adding 230 V AC output. The external inverter is mounted with a detachable mechanical system so the configuration remains modular and serviceable.

Key advantages of this configuration

230 V pure sine wave output

The inverter module provides two 230 V sockets. Pure sine wave output is suitable for a broad range of conventional and sensitive electronic loads, provided their power requirements remain within the system limits.

1200 W rated inverter output

In this 12 V finished product, the inverter is rated at 1200 W, with 2000 W short-duration peak power.

Detachable inverter mounting

Ten installed M8 inserts, the NOMAD+ inverter mounting kit and two slide-foot connections provide a stable but detachable mechanical interface.

How the inverter module operates in this system

The inverter automatically detects a 12 V or 24 V input. NOMAD [A018]-2 is a 12 V finished product, so only the 12 V output ratings apply to this configuration.

1200 W rated output

The inverter's rated output in 12 V mode is 1200 W. Safe sustained system load also depends on the BMS, fuses, cabling, connectors and thermal conditions.

2000 W short-duration peak

Peak power is intended for brief startup demands. Motor-driven, compressor-based and other high-inrush loads require separate startup-power verification.

Two 230 V sockets

Both sockets share the capacity of the same inverter. The power of simultaneously connected loads must be added together.

USB-C and USB-A

The inverter's USB outputs provide additional charging options alongside the PowerBox's integrated USB-C PD outputs.

Why is this finished product not rated at 4000 W?

The 4000 W peak value applies to the inverter's 24 V mode. NOMAD [A018]-2 is a 12 V system, so the correct inverter ratings for this finished product are 1200 W rated and 2000 W peak.

Mechanical mounting of the inverter module

The standard NOMAD base case does not contain factory-installed M8 inserts. For the complete [A018]-2 configuration, all ten M8 inserts are installed and used as the mechanical interface for the external inverter module.

10 installed M8 inserts

The EX2100-QBRM8I inserts provide the attachment points required by the complete inverter-equipped configuration.

NOMAD+ mounting kit

The EX2310-INV-001 kit contains the inverter support bracket and a rubber spacer that maintains the required mechanical clearance.

Two detachable slide feet

QS Custom Connectors Set 3 – EX2100-QBRCC creates a stable but detachable mechanical connection between the PowerBox and inverter module.

Battery and charging

LiTime 165 Ah self-heating Bluetooth LiFePO₄

The integrated battery provides 2112 Wh nominal energy, a 150 A BMS, self-heating and Bluetooth + OTA monitoring. Its dual-purpose starting capability is intended for supported marine and outboard-motor applications.

EnergonX 14.6 V / 40 A / 0 V charger

The separate LiFePO₄ mains charger connects through a red 50 A Anderson connector. The simple theoretical CC charging time is approximately 4.1 hours; actual full charging takes longer because of the CV stage and operating conditions.

Marine starting function only

The battery's starting capability is not a general-purpose vehicle-starting claim. It is intended for supported marine, boating and compatible outboard-motor applications. Starting current must be taken directly from the battery's M8 terminals; the PowerBox external outputs, fuses and Anderson connectors must not be used to carry engine-starting current.

Important operating and safety information

Check both running and startup power

Refrigerators, pumps, compressors, power tools and other inductive loads can require substantially more power during startup than during normal operation. Both running and startup demand must remain within the inverter and system limits.

Treat the 230 V output as mains voltage

Dangerous mains voltage is present at the inverter sockets. Do not use damaged cables, connectors or appliances. Earthing and electric-shock protection must follow the inverter documentation and the requirements of the specific application.

High DC current requires correct protection

The permissible load is determined jointly by the battery BMS, fuses, cabling, connectors and thermal conditions. A connector or BMS current rating alone must not be treated as a system-wide continuous-current rating.

Protect the system from direct moisture

For outdoor use, follow the general EnergonX PowerBox requirements. Keep the PowerBox, external inverter and mains charger protected from rain, splashing water and other direct moisture unless the specific component is explicitly rated for such exposure.
