Areas of application

Where can EnergonX systems help?

The EnergonX PowerBox can provide portable and mobile power where grid electricity is unavailable or unsuitable. The EnergonX UPS is designed to provide automatic backup power for selected critical loads during a power outage.

EnergonX PowerBox – mobile power applications

For tasks where the power source must be taken to the place of use, or where no suitable grid connection is available.

Outdoor work and field power

Outdoor work, construction and field maintenance

The PowerBox can power mobile lighting, measuring instruments, communication equipment, smaller devices and chargers for cordless-tool batteries.

Temporary deployments, markets and events

Temporary deployments, markets and events

For mobile sales points, exhibition stands, registration desks and event locations. A suitably configured PowerBox can power a cash register, payment terminal, printer, lighting, router, smaller display or refrigerator.

Agricultural and forestry field tasks

Agricultural and forestry field tasks

For monitoring, communication, lighting, measurement and charging tasks in remote areas, at worksites or temporary field locations.

Home and emergency mobile power

Home and emergency mobile power

For temporary operation of lighting, phones, laptops, radios, cameras, data equipment or appropriately sized small refrigeration.

Camping, fishing and boating

Camping, fishing, boating and mobile living

For lighting, phones, laptops, fish finders, bait-boat battery charging, cool boxes and other smaller mobile loads.

Film, photography and drone locations

Film, photography and drone locations

For charging or operating cameras, monitors, lighting, audio equipment, drone batteries, remote controls and other field equipment.

EnergonX UPS – automatic backup-power applications

For selected loads that must continue operating without manual switching when the grid supply fails.

Boilers and heating systems

For targeted backup power to gas boilers, control units and related smaller heating loads after the electrical requirements of the equipment have been verified.

Circulation pumps and smaller process pumps

For pumps where rated power, startup current, motor characteristics and required runtime must all be considered.

Routers, communication and data connections

For automatic backup operation of internet connections, network equipment, radio communication and other communication systems.

Control systems and monitoring

For maintaining operation of previously identified and correctly sized controllers, regulators, sensors, data-communication and monitoring systems.

Cameras and security systems

For backup power to camera systems, recorders, alarms, access control, monitoring and smaller security lighting.

Critical loads in institutional, industrial and agricultural settings

For targeted backup power to smaller boilers, pumps, routers, monitoring systems, controls or other selected loads in various operating environments.

Which solution is appropriate?

Mobile power

When the power source must be taken to the location and the loads are connected or switched on manually, an EnergonX PowerBox is generally the appropriate solution.

Automatic backup power

When a load must continue operating without manual intervention during a power outage, an EnergonX UPS is generally required.

Complex or special application

When several types of loads, special connections, unusual environments or integration with an existing system are involved, a customized EnergonX configuration may be appropriate.

Temporary deployments – typical loads

For markets, fairs, events and mobile service locations, the total load and the daily operating period together determine the required system size.

Device or task Typical use Important sizing factor
Online cash register, mobile POS or payment terminal Sales, receipt issuing, order management and card payments. The voltage and power of the factory power supply, the number of devices used at the same time and the full opening period.
Receipt, label or ticket printer Printing receipts, labels, admission tickets or order slips. Instantaneous demand during printing may be higher than standby consumption.
LED stand lighting and illuminated advertising Lighting counters, tents, products or information boards. The combined power of all lights and the daily lighting period.
Router, mobile hotspot, laptop or smaller display Internet access, administration, presentations and digital information. Continuous consumption and the maximum rating of the factory chargers.
Compressor refrigerator or cool box Keeping beverages, food, flowers or other temperature-sensitive products cool. Compressor startup surge, ambient temperature and intermittent duty cycle.
High-power catering equipment

Coffee machines, kettles, microwave ovens, hot plates, food warmers, ovens and larger refrigeration equipment may require substantially more power than a smaller mobile system can provide. These applications require a dedicated high-power configuration and prior consumption measurement.

Applications requiring special attention

For these applications, safety requirements, manufacturer instructions and professional standards must be checked in addition to power demand.

Support power for rescue and disaster-response tasks

The PowerBox can provide field support power for lighting, communication, cameras, data connections, drones and charging battery-powered equipment.

It does not replace a certified rescue, hospital or life-safety backup-power system.

Medical and safety-critical equipment

EnergonX is not a certified life-support power supply and must not be used as the sole or guaranteed source of power for equipment whose shutdown could create an immediate medical or life-safety risk.

Outdoor and special environments

Exact limits concerning dust, moisture, temperature, mounting and outdoor use are determined by the enclosure, connectors, battery and complete configuration of the particular system.

Sizing considerations

The right EnergonX system must be selected from the actual load and required operation, not from the application category alone.

Load

What device must be operated, at what voltage, with which connection and with what waveform requirement?

Power

What is the continuous consumption, and is there a higher startup or short-duration peak demand?

Runtime

How long must the load operate without grid power or a recharging opportunity?

Operating mode

Is mobile PowerBox power or automatic UPS backup operation required?

Environment

Will the system be used indoors, outdoors, in dust, humidity, cold or another special environment?

Connection and protection

What connectors, circuit protection, isolation, earthing and professionally installed wiring are required?

Frequently asked questions

Can both PowerBox and UPS be used for the same task?

The same load may sometimes be powered by either system, but the operating method differs. The PowerBox is a mobile power source to which the load is generally connected manually. The UPS can automatically switch to battery backup when grid power fails.

Can the correct system be selected from the application alone?

No. Even within the same application, load, startup demand, runtime, connections and environmental requirements may differ significantly. The system must be sized from the actual device data.

Can every refrigerator, pump or motor-driven load be operated?

Not automatically. Compressors, pumps and motor-driven equipment may require several times their running power during startup, so a separate technical assessment is required.

Does outdoor use automatically mean the system is waterproof?

No. Exact environmental protection depends on the enclosure, lid condition, connectors, cable entries and complete system design. The technical specifications of the particular configuration are always decisive.

Can a system be built for a completely custom application?

Yes. A completely new customized EnergonX system, a rebuild of an existing EnergonX unit or a configuration integrated with an existing technical system can be produced.

We start with the task

First, the load, required runtime, operating environment and operating mode must be defined. The appropriate PowerBox, UPS or customized EnergonX system can then be selected.
